Day 1 Glasgow – Perfect Mix of Old & New

Tour the highlights of Glasgow and discover its unique history & character!

Day 2 Castles & Whisky – Scotland says hello!

Drive along the famous Loch Lomond and visit Inveraray Castle,home of the 12th Duke of Argyll & film location for Downton Abbey. Later, in Oban, visit Oban Distillery, learn about whisky production and savour a sample of the finished product.

Day 3 The most scenic landscapes by rail

Discover the beautiful & historically important shores of Loch Linnhe to Fort William. Board the spectacular Jacobite steam train, featured in the Harry Potter movies, to Mallaig and, on the journey, pass the famous Glenfinnan Memorial. Embark on a short ferry ride to the spectacular Isle of Skye - watch out for potential basking shark sightings during your crossing.

Day 4 Isle of Skye

Explore the Isle of Skye and its Bonnie Prince Charlie connections. Discover Dunvegan Castle, stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years. View priceless family heirlooms and stroll through formal gardens. Explore the scenery that inspired countless myths and legends.

Day 5 Botanical highlight in the Highlands…

Take a panoramic drive through the Highland scenery as you head to Inverewe Gardens, where a haven of trees and shrubs was created from 50 acres of bleak headland in 1862. The varied plantings thrive due to the warmth of the Gulf Stream.

Day 6 Jacobites…and a monster…

Keep your camera handy as you cruise on Loch Ness to visit the picturesque ruins of Urquhart Castle, once Scotland’s largest castles which was destroyed in Jacobite wars. Head to Culloden Battlefield to tour the Visitor Centre, where, on April 16, 1746, British Government forces defeated the army of Prince Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince Charlie). Walk around the moor and see monuments to the various regiments who lost men. Stop for photos at Clava Cairns, a prehistoric burial place with a circle of standing stones that inspired the “Outlander” books.

Day 7 Sheep dogs…

Travel through the picturesque Cairngorms National Park past Scotland’s ski resort of Aviemore to Kingussie for a demonstration of Scottish sheepdogs… Continue over the spectacular Forth Bridge into Edinburgh.

Day 8 Scotland’s capital: Edinburgh

Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Edinburgh, comparing the wide streets and elegant mansions of the Georgian 200-year-old “New Town” with the narrow lanes and medieval townhouses along the Royal Mile, the oldest part of the city.

Day 9 Depart at leisure
