Situated in the heart of the town, your hotel is a fantastic location to explore the quirky town, home to the famous mint cake with speciality shops in cobbled streets and yards in the evening. Enjoy your first evening together with a Welcome Dinner and an optional introduction talk to the region you are visiting.
Day 2 Lake Windermere
Enjoy a scenic morning steam railway journey to Lakeside on Lake Windermere where you then embark on your panoramic lake cruise to Bowness. Day 3 A taste of the Northern Lakes
After breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive, past Lake Windermere, Thirlmere Reservoir and finally Bassenthwaite Lake, into Northern Lakes territory. A visit to the Lakes Distillery with a tour & tasting of their own whisky, gin or vodka awaits. Continue into Grasmere where we include a visit to the picturesque Dove Cottage & the Wordsworth Museum as well as some free-time in the quaint village.
Day 4 Magnificent Castles & Gardens in the Lakes
Today, discover one of the grand castles of the North West at Muncaster. Your visit includes some of the famous bird displays in the grounds & gardens… Later, briefly travel South towards the coast to the privately owned Levens Hall & Gardens, home to some of the world’s best topiary.
